OC AIR COMMUNITY FOCUS | Packard Classic Car Exhibit Debuts
Car buffs moving through John Wayne Airport (JWA) may want to check out the Packard Classic Car Exhibit in Terminal A of the Vi Smith Concourse Gallery in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal.
Passengers can view a collection of photos and accessories from the classic Packard automobile. Packard had manufactured their cars in the U-S between 1899 and 1958.
Orange County’s Packard International Motor Car Club has put on display photos of the classic luxury car, including a 1932 Twin Six Phaeton, that was owned by actress Jean Harlow, along with hood ornaments and other unique Packard ephemera.
When the Packards International Motor Car Club was founded in the early 1960′s, it was thought the new club would be the only Southern California organization. But the club grew rapidly. The club now has members in all 50 states and 12 foreign countries. The Packard display can be seen by ticketed passengers who have passed through security. It’s been shown across from Gates 11 through 14 in the Thomas F. Riley Terminal. The exhibit will be available to travelers through June 1.
